Get real. Most people have no desire to involve themselves in the lives of those who behave poorly. When people witness the defenseless being abused then they become protective and try to help them. Children are raised to mind the parent who has control of them. For a parent to abuse that trust and to treat their children as a foil for their own problems and frustrations is cruel. I would hope that people will always have the compassion to step forward to help the helpless. Some of the posters here impress me as being more apt to stop the cruel treatment of a dog than a child.

Maybe she ought to be the one getting "a good slap". Seems like SHE was the one causing the biggest disturbance. I HATE to see people hitting kids in public. It is SO low class. If you need to correct your child, do it in private. If you have been parenting your kids consistanly, you should not have to hit them over and over on a plane. Kids learn by example and it looks like maybe she is the reason for the behavior. If that is what they see, that is how they will behave.
