Bottle feeding a baby with breast milk IS NOT the same as breastfeeding. I understand why some would want to pump and some would not. But it is against the law to restrict breastfeeding mothers in most states and anybody who has a problem with seeing a baby being fed this way has more problems than we can cover here.
These are all great arguments, reasons, rationale, and logic why breastfeeding in public is OK but my pastor says it is the wrong thing to do so therefore I am against it.

I'm a 45yo grandmother and I believe breastfeeding should be done in private.
My daughter breastfed, and she made it a point to pump her milk before they went anywhere so that the baby could still eat, just out of a bottle. If she ran out and had to feed him, she went out to the car or into the bathroom if it was nice and had somewhere to sit. She was modest about uncovering herself in front of family members at gatherings as well.
I did not raise her to be modest, we took baths together til she started showering, and even today neither one of us has a problem gettring undressed for the pool or beach in front of each other. She also bathes with her kids who are now 4 and 2.
I mean, I get it, in an emergency you gotta do what you gotta do. But honestly, why can't you pump and bottle like other mothers? It's not like you don't get that bonding experience at home when you breastfeed.
I do think that some women seem to enjoy making it such an issue that they purposefully whip that boob out and start feeding their baby, just to see if a ruckus would be caused. For those women, I'd like to know why you would want to expose your breast in public, for any reason, just for attention.
I am trying to wrap my head around a family that is comfortable showering/undressing together, yet, opposed to breast feeding in public.

Lose the pastor. Breast feeding is advantageous to both the child, and the mother-child bond. That trumps anybody claiming otherwise under the guise of religion.

Do you always have this much trouble thinking for yourself?
I have never seen a woman whip it out. I only hear about it here. Have you actually seen a woman whip out her breast and I guess show it off to onlookers?
I have plenty of times. But then I work in the restaurant industry, so I've seen just about everything.

I worked in restaurants in my younger days, although it was probably less common back then across the board. And my husband was in fine dining for a long time plus we live in MA, a liberal state, and I've never seen it. I haven't seen anyone breastfeeding at all let alone women purposely exposing themselves as exhibitionists. How often do you see this happening?
