There is a class offered for kids to learn Stand Up Paddle Boarding. It's $75 for three one hour sessions.

Wondering if you would have your elementary age kid enroll in the class. Most interested in your thought process.

No. When it comes to recreational sports and activities, I believe children learn far more and gain a much deeper insight into the dynamics of such through experienced peers and getting out and doing it on their own.

Sure.

I always took formal instruction prior to engaging in activity as a kid, and it made it so much more fun...you know the ropes and can just go.

Skiing, riding, windsurfing, tennis, golf, etc...

I would not deny my kid the same.

If my child had an interest in doing it, yes.

Paddle boarding is pretty easy, so I probably wouldn't pay for the class. When we did it in Florida, the rental company gave us a 10 minute lesson on land and we were good to go...

Plus the $75 IMO would provide more bang if applied to a board for said kid.

My kids took a short free demo lesson when they were 6 and 9. I'd consider spending the money if they were interested. We'd probably all do it together.

Paddle boarding is easy, my kids had no problem figuring it out.

I've been too involved in politics lately. I could have sworn I read Stand Up Water Boarding and was thinking "Is this some kind of new Political Reality Class in school?" So glad I was wrong.

$75 to learn something that basically takes no skill other than to have balance & strength? I am certain your elementary-schooler can pick it up on his own.
