My son had world maps and sports posters decorating his walls when he lived at home. My kid was given much autonomy and made choices for himself. I wasn't about to dictate to him what he could do with his room.
My parents made a big stink over "tape on the walls!" and my choices of posters when I was a teen and it always made me feel like I had no say in what I could do, which just made me want to be more bullheaded.

Other than those, it does not matter a whole lot. I would let mine live upside down in their room, if 1 - 5 are non issues. Mine got through 22 years, each, and are still going strong on avoiding all 5. My wife wanted to fight EVERY battle to a bloody conclusion, I worried about the big five.
As a result, we sent very mixed signals to our children, which was terrible, but at the end of the day, they are both college grads, have great jobs, and are still untouched by 1 - 5 above.
If posters on walls are your biggest problem, or even in your top 10, you will have a charmed life!
Good Luck
Yeah I agree. You need to chose you battles and as for myself, posters are WAAAAYYY down on my "battle list".
