I do have to admit I'm getting my 16 month old granddaughter a dolly for Christmas - she LOVES "babies". I'm sure they'll be best friends and play with her trucks together.
Any of you take your kids (or your nieces and nephews) to Home Depot's Kids' Workshops? I think Lowes has something similar. My daughter generally likes Legos, crafts, and building stuff; this event is the one specific thing our 5-year old daughter looks forward to every month, just prior to her ballet lessons. She loves the whole experience. I do notice that it's a good mix of folks who show up: Dads with sons, dads with daughters, moms with sons, moms with daughters.
Come to think of it, though, the five friends she does run into regularly are all boys. Hmm...
