I was trying to find an Elsa dress for my daughter's upcoming birthday and couldn't find anything reasonably priced. No, I wasn't prepared to spend the insane amounts of money that the Elsa dresses cost right now on Amazon or eBay. You can get something nice on Etsy, but that will cost you too.

Instead I looked up some online tutorials, and ended up making her an Elsa cape yesterday instead (I'm not ambitious enough to make the whole dress, and my daughter will be perfectly happy with just the cape!). It is reversible - purple on one side for the coronation dress, and turquoise on the other for the snow queen dress. It cost me $18 for the fabric/materials, and 3 hours to sew it last night after she went to bed. If you are a more experienced sewer, I'm sure you could do it a lot faster than me though, and it would probably come out better too. But I think my daughter will be happy enough with what I came up with!

I don't see the attraction of that movie at all. I wouldn't take my kid to it (if I had one). I'd buy her a copy of Snow White and let her enjoy it instead. (And I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a Snow White dress either. LOL)

Also, FYI, the "word on the street" is that the Elsa dress that Toys R Us carries is too itchy and nobody likes it. The Disney Parks or JCPenney versions are preferred.

I've seen the trailer. That was enough for me to determine that it is not sending a message that I would be interested in receiving. Presumably, the *best* of the movie appears in the trailer. I found it sadly lacking.

Well, my girls love it because it is about the bond between two sisters, just like them. Not sure what's objectionable about that...
