Also a lot of the time the parents use these "toys" as a means to keep their children occupied not to spoil them. I think it is not spoiling them in the sense of giving them everything but spoiling them by not giving them what they really need - more quality time with their families.
Finally as usual an older generation claims that they went through hardships that younger generations will never experience. Each generation has its hardships - they just tend to be different.
