If I hit a total stranger, I would be arrested. Perhaps you are unaware that children do not need to be hit or beaten for any reason.

Well, I do spank my children and don't really care who approves of it and who doesn't. And, having a criminal justice degree myself, I know the law well enough that I don't have to call police to supervise.

No need to become defensive. Defensivness some times indicates conflict. Do you think your degree gives you permission to beat a child?
My degree in a human services field makes me know spanking is child abuse. I have never listened to a defense of it that made sense.
Beating your children, 'so what' is hardly a defense for the beating.

If my 12 year old girl was pregnant, if anybody's ass should be whipped it would be my own.
And she SHOULD be sent to a foster home, but only because she's not getting adequate supervision or direction at home from her OWN parents.

Do you know how many parents would throw out their own kids the moment they find out he or she is having a kid? If a child decides to make an adult decision like this, then he'll be sent out to live like one. Most parents don't want to have to waste more expenses on another child that isn't theirs. They think it's teaching their daughter the consequences of her actions. If she's sleeping around at age 12-16, then she's going to have to get some income and raise the kid herself.
