What's disturbing to me is that this question even needs to be asked. Of course it's wrong. smh

Of course it's wrong.

Who are you debating this with? And since you have no kids, why are you asking this question?

NO kid should be hit anytime. How about the policeman hit you when you're stopped for speeding? Or your boss slap you when s/she finds you surfing the internet? Would that help you?

Some will say a swat on the butt is okay. But why even do that? Gets their attention they say. But so does a look of disapproval if you ONLY use that for when they have done wrong. A loving parent/ caregiver does not have to resort to violence of any kind.

Yeah.. a child with that kind of parent would flinch every time the parent came into the room. Sad.

Refuse to debate with the idiot trying to engage you with this obviously stupid question. Some people don't deserve an answer.

Punishing a child for something they have not done yet sends them a message that you do not think they are capable of NOT doing the bad thing.

A parent needs to teach a child that they believe the child is good, and they believe the child can be good.
If you teach them that they can't avoid doing bad things, it's the same as teaching them to be bad.
