I have nothing against Disney movies or other animated features for children, however, even from an early age I mixed cartoons up with live action movies.
I think it's better for children to see real people interacting. Disney has some live action films too - as a child I saw "Pollyanna" on Walt Disney Wonderful World of Color. It spurred an interest in all things Victorian.
One of my favorite Disney films is "Fantasia" - wonderful way to introduce younger children to classical music.

Well even Disney Channel movies aren't the best. Sorry but East High isn't "all in this together" and two out of the movies characters won't make an entire lunch period smile and start talking with each other. Kids movies aren't exactly perfect for kids. I was a child of the Home Alone and Three Ninjas movies and those should not have been shown to a five/six year old for the violence. Neither should the Police Academy movies but my parents let me watch them all the dang time...
