My girls are both getting them. They are 11 and 8. I can actually see the younger one purposely getting them tangled; she enjoys a bit of drama, but I'll make sure to tell her she'd have to cute her hair short if that happens. We'll take our chances.
'Cause kids always use toys exactly how they are supposed to be used and they always get picked up and put away immediately after use to prevent mishaps. No kid ever threw small, round objects at another kid.

Man I'm glad I don't have cable otherwise my daughter would ask for those. I can see those getting stuck in her hair and the dog getting a hold of them.

Not sure what your point is (condescending thread title notwithstanding ). It's a toy marketed to pretty young children (4 and up according to the package) and there are issues which some parents may not have thought about prior to purchasing. Not everyone would think to put a childs hair up prior to allowing them to play with what are essentially building blocks. Apparently it's been a big enough problem that online discussions and videos have been generated. The toy has gotten some negative reviews as a result. Not seeing the big deal - that's kind of the point of reviewing (or reading reviews about) stuff. No one is suing the manufacturer or calling for the toy to be recalled.

My point is that maybe parents shouldn't blame everyone else for everything their child does. My kids do stupid stuff and I blame them. Like the time my son decided to ride his bike down a sliding board and hurt himself. I didn't post on Amazon about the bike or the slide. I told my son when we do stupid things we sometimes get hurt.
The "big deal" is the fact that parents can't separate a child's stupid decisions from the product in use. Why give the product a bad review because your kid didn't use it the right way?
Well, they gave good directions for getting them out of hair - tons of detangler or conditioner should do the trick. I'd buy them, but I have a boy and he's only interested in toys that look like they could actually kill someone.
