I kind of feel obligated to return the invite to kids who invited my dd to their birthday party, even the ones she didn't attend. But, at the same time, I want her to invite who she wants there, especially since her chosen activity is not cheap so she's limited to only 8 guests. What is proper etiquette...inviting the children who invited your child, or not?

This is a great question. I wondered the same thing last year. I ultimately invited them, but haven't decided if I will again this year. I'm leaning towards 'no'. I have a few more weeks to decide.
Since you have a limited number of guests to invite, I would let your child choose. If you were having a party at home where the number was less restricted, I would include the other friends. It never hurts to be generous, especially when it comes to a child.
