Check out conductdisorders.com. I think you will thank your lucky stars when you see all the wonderful advice there. I was a member during a rough patch in my daughters life. She is sooooooooo much better now, so don't give up hope. The info there was invaluable to help me through a couple of really tough years.

wow. My son is bipolar just like his father was. I went thru all this stuff with him too! Even though I quit blaming myself long ago (he's 27 now) and realized he got the same environment as the others did etc.... It's really nice to see ya'll laying this out in public and I feel reinforced. I wish ya'll had existed in the days I had my troubles with my son!
Here's an update on him tho... he being released from his 2nd time in prison and two back to back rehabs. He sounds completely different on the phone this time, more like his old pre-trouble self. He got a great phsyc in the first rehab that sent him thru to the second and stayed with him. He is on medication for his bipolar and seems to have leveled out on them. He says he feels like all the trouble and bad decisions are just a nightmare he lived thru now.
Every decision I made for him was mostly wrong. I did not know he was bipolar. I did know he had TBD (traumatic brain damage) that affected his behavior, but I managed that one pretty well. couple that with BP and wow... it's a wild rocket ride into the stars!

Thanks folks for sharing. I appreciate you.
