Everything comes back around though. I was surprised to see a “Debbie” keychain at a tourist trap today. Clearly it’s due for a comeback - or it already has and we haven’t noticed yet.
It usually takes about 100 years for a name to stop feeling dated and start being fresh again. Debbie needs a couple more generations.

I hardly think a fake license plate is the criteria for naming your kid. For some of that stuff, you can order merchandise with your kid's name, even if it is Bathsheba!
Well, my name is one that is commonly shortened into a nickname but my mom taught me when I was a little kid that that was not my name, so just don't answer to it, and correct someone if they keep trying to use it, which I did. I really like my first name just as it is (thanks, Mom and Dad) and I agreed with them - I didn't want it shortened.
Ironically my EX husband is the only person to ever use that nick name with any regularity. He simply would not stop trying to make me answer to that name, and "be" that person. He even called me that around other people - and if they tried to use it I had to correct them (it worked every single time). Not the reason I divorced him but I have to believe that was an indicator of something unpleasant in his personality.
My name is not Elizabeth but it falls in the same general category, of a longish, classic name that people will occasionally try to shorten. If I had a daughter named Elizabeth, and she liked that name, I'd just tell her "STICK TO YOUR GUNS" and just go by ELIZABETH.

It's easy to find personalized stuff with my son's name on it. But it's rare (not impossible, but rare) to find personalized stuff with my daughter's name on it.

The personalized things were a big deal when I was a kid in the 1970s. I envied my friends with common names like Julie, Lisa, and Amy, because they had no trouble finding mugs, pencils, fake license plates. etc., with their names. One time I found a mug with my name on it at a gift shop at Disneyland, and that was thrilling. But I agree that it really doesn't matter any more. You can buy just about any item online and get whatever name you want printed on it.
