I'm embarrassed to admit I used to watch Toddler and Tiaras. There was a girl on that show named "Corn" and they actually pronounced it "Corinne." I mean seriously, why would you do that to your kid?

People definitely have trouble with that name. Our neighbors have a granddaughter whose name is pronounced Corinne --"kor-RIN"--but spelled Corryn.

I'd at least pronounce "Corryn", as Kor-Rin were I to see it written before I heard it
It's such a pretty name, anyhow, I really like it.

More that I do NOT like:

Tanya

Precious

Princess

Diamond

Ruth (just sounds ugly to me)

Hannah

Imogene (I had a sitter who also sat for a couple whose kid was called this but spelled Imogen; sitter pronounced it im-ogg-enn and I can't really blame her)

I would look at Corryn and say COR-in, not cor-RIN.

-A masculine name for a girl, regardless of spelling (Billie, Johnnie, etc.). It's just unattractive sounding.

-Saddam/Adolf, etc.

-Stormy (not only does it sound like a stripper, you're naming your child after something that causes destruction, loss of life and power outages).

-Fanny (a very popular name 100 years ago)- I think of someone sitting on their fanny.

-I've heard other say "Nevaeh" because Heaven backwards is "Hell" and why would you name a child after that?

FYI, Fanny was a polite name for bottom when I was growing up, but apparently, it is a very rude name in England...kind of like the c word here.

On names with the weird spellings, I wonder if the parents ever accidentally spelled their name wrong. lol.

I feel sorry for the kids with really odd names that might get them teased in school or frequently having to tell people how to pronounce it or spell it.
