When inventor, YouTuber, and possible mad scientist Colin Furze decides to build something, he goes all in. So, naturally, when it came time to upgrade his 5-year-old son’s scooter, he didn’t just hit up Amazon or head to his local Walmart for a new one. Instead, Furze slapped a jet-powered engine on a standard scooter so his son could ride circles around the neighborhood kids.

Pretty cool...noticed that the kid had no helmet on right away...
He makes an "extremely wise" decision to control the board himself (remote), but he's not wise enough to helmet the kid....he's mad alright!

Eh, title is sensationalizing it a tad. It's an electric ducted fan similar to what is used in R/C aircraft. It's not a jet because no hot fuel is injected and ignited in this case.

Honestly, no different than if the scooter itself was battery powered by way of a motor turning the wheels. In this case, the ducted fan is pushing the scooter. It would probably be faster if the wheels were providing the thrust instead.

Kids needs a helmet, but I don't see anything dangerous about it here. I doubt it can get up to any serious speed anyway.
