You aren't doing fine if you think drag queens are mentally ill just for being drag queens.

The largest "city" in Wyoming has just 63,000 people.

That tells you all you need to know about their attitude towards drag queens....

OK, issues of fetishism and LGBTQ aside, what about the fact that drag queens expressly portray hyper-exaggerated, negative stereotypes of women?

Adults may be able to get the joke, but can a 4 year old?

No, they satirize extremes in gender roles. And as far as 4yos they may not get the "joke" but they do understand that sometimes grownups play dress up too. They see adults at halloween, at disney world, or even in movies and broadway shows. As far as they are concerned its just playacting, which is ultimately all "drag" is about anyway.

Just FYI, "it gets better" isn't just for the kids. Hang in there mom, it gets better for you too once they are out of the school age microcosm.

I do get a little Mamma Bear when people call my child things like freak, sick... On the first day your child comes to you in tears because they just want to be themselves, you can tell me how sick it is. He is a child of enormous kindness, sticking up for friends smaller than him, helping people when they need help. He is a child of enormous strength, compassion, integrity.

Wait, not child. Young man. And someday, maybe, young woman. I am proud to call this person either son OR daughter.

^This. Just point and laugh and tell your kids that there are weirdos everywhere, then move on.

My "Mommy's boy" could kick your teeth in. There is no person on the planet stronger than him. He looked at me the other day and said, Mom, what person in their right mind would CHOOSE this? This SUCKS. I can tell you. It is not a choice. He has a friend who has killed himself because of parents like you. Oh wait, that is just the kid being a *****. God help your child if s/he ever feels the way my child does. That child is stuck with you. Which is an ugly, evil, terrible thing.

Second, by that last statement, you're as confused as HE (and HE will remain a HE until HE dies).
They have this neat new thing called hormones and, eventually if he chooses, gender reassignment surgery.

And drag queens still have no place interacting with children, no matter their stated motivations.
And the world should have no place for ignorant, hateful, mean people like you.

Frickin ban me.

Probably a good thing he doesn't associate with people who aren't exactly like him.

May my child never have to associate with people like that. But he will.
