That's just your opinion. As was discussed earlier, different strokes for different folks. I would understand if she were constantly complaining about the fact that we keep our finances separate, but she doesn't care.
As others have stated, a good number of couples do it. I'm not saying that I'm not open to trying it out in the future, but I just don't want to at this time.
Your argument in favor of joint accounts comes off as sounding like you're saying "it's the right way" -- much like saying, for example, that people shouldn't cohabit if they're not married or get married if they don't plan on having kids.
Different things work for different people based on their tastes, lifestyles, etc.
