I plan on having kids one day, but for the time being, I'm glad to say I'm still childless :\

Growing up and relating to this, the father should've confiscated the Xbox and locked it up.

I have zero respect for parents who choose YouTube( or social media) humiliation to discipline their children.

Force the kid to sell it to a pawn shop, then use the money for study supplies.

Wow, what a horrible "father". I certainly understand taking it away till grades are better but this is all kinds of awful. For those that say "It's just a video game system", it's the principal of the matter. Imagine if a parent "punished" a girl by making her tear up all of her nice clothes, or smash all her makeup.

Girls don't have Xboxes?

I agree with confiscating the electronics and making the child earn them back.

Yes. I agree. Shaming someone seems unnecessary to me. And, I agree that Dad should have confiscated it and given the kid the opportunity to earn back the the privilege of playing it. A missed teachable moment.

Ridiculous, cruel, stupid, terrible parenting.

There are many other ways to get a kid to improve his grades. That father will reap what he's sowing.

Take it apart and make the kid learn how to put it together and troubleshoot it

Make him learn some electronic work if he can't learn school work and still want to use it

It's excessive, but I love it anyway. Better than being an enabling dad. Authors note: I don't have kids.
