No- I think this is right on topic. I wondered the same thing. It's simply not what it used to be in terms of quality, wholesome entertainment (now it's often lacking in both).

This last weekend, I was watching "The Ugly Dachshund" and one of the things that was bugging me about this 60's flick was the underlining theme of Brutus being unsuitable, get rid of him. In our modern world, that is an unthinkable thought and to think of it being in a children's film.........

So, a few thoughts. Do not let children watch alone but watch with them so "you" can catch things as they pop up and talk about them. Or pre watch the flick so you can judge ahead of time to whether they should see the flick at all. Or as suggested above.
