So what's going to happen when he realizes that what he has collected from tick or treating doesn't match what his parents give him? If they don't want him to eat it, then they shouldn't be sneaking and eating it either.
Was it determined that the illness was caused by the water and not something he ate? Some food reactions don't necessarily show up right away-it could be possible that he reacted to something that he ate before he played in the water or even visited his granparents ( just trying to cover all the bases).
Test results came back negative: "DD finally got the results from grandson's pediatrician on Friday, all "Negative". She's not satisfied with this, she wants clarification. She also wants to know how long the lab sat with the samples before testing them...it took them almost TWO WEEKS to get back to the doctor."
I assume they tested for any parasite or bacteria in the stool, IDK, but obviously it was not from the water or anything serious.
Most likely just one of those things that is common with kids, a case of the trots and a rash.
I'm curious how far she is going to go to get satisfaction for a case of the trots and a rash.

We do not know if the child drank water from the creek or not. My previous post that you quoted (#219) was intended as a general statement, not necessarily specific to this case.
We also don't know how sick the child was. Under some circumstances (unknown exposures, etc) I would have taken my kids to the doctor as well.
He's been okay since. No more splashes in the pond or creek, though, sorry to say. I think DD is a little too "helicopter" but I've grown up playing in muck and it is very satisfying to young curiosity.
The diarrhea was frightening, though, three days in a row. For a kid seldom sick to be pooping his bed isn't him.

So glad to hear the little guy is up, and running again. Now if the rest of us can settle down, and relax, lol. Maybe now that he got to play in the water they could try swimming lessons again. For safety's sake, and peace of mind.

Pooping in bed would be a reason for me to take an almost 5 year old to the doctor.
you have no idea if he ingested any of the water or not.
