How long should they be "allowed" to do something not in their parents' home? Allowed by whom? Their landlord?

Or how long should the parents hold on to or store them? It's as much a theoretical question in that wouldn't storing or removing them be another step in the maturation process? Would the parent be considered as shunning their child if they take them down?
Oh. The stuff is still in the home but the kid is not. I see no maturation benefit to this. In my home, I would leave them where ever I wanted for as long as I wanted. Once they leave, I would certainly repurpose their bedroom if I wanted to. So that stuff might get put away. If I did not want to store them, I would give them to the kid to keep or toss.
