I tried to do an accurate check of at least 1 week of samples multiples times before posting this.

I live in a very family-friendly neighborhood. Almost every household (90%+) no exaggeration have at least 2 kids. They all go outside a lot. My neighboring neighborhood, which I go to a lot because it has a park, is also very family friendly with a lot of kids.

In the past week, since all kids are stuck at/around home, I've been paying attention to them outside. I have NEVER seen anyone wear a helmet. Ages anything from toddlers to teens, from bikes/tricycles/scooters/etc, I have NEVER seen anyone wear a helmet. At least 100+ observed kids. Are these things just dead?

In my state it's the law for kids up to age 14 to wear one.

There aren't a lot of children in my neighborhood, but they wear helmets.

It depends on your state. Some states require them and some do not. I lived in Florida and they were required there up to age 16, but now in Illinois, they are not required. My sister’s son rides his bike to school in CA and I know he is required to wear a helmet.

In my 'hood, most kids wear them for bikes, scooters, hoverboards, and roller blades. The skateboarders and older kids don't always wear them, but the under-12 gang is pretty diligent.

In my state its the law. Beyond that most folks are attentive to child safety, so we often address it with our city contact . they are good about taking helmets out to certain places and just giving them to the kiddos.
the kids love putting stickers and designing on them.

All of my young relatives wear helmets 100% of the time when they are biking, skateboarding, roller skating or doing similar activities. The parents wear helmets, too (mostly).

Our neighborhood is nuts about helmets. Every kid wears them and most adults too. I love it!

I don't think they are dead. I think you just live near a bunch of parents that aren't that interested in protecting their children from injury.

That quite honestly is shocking, every kid I've seen in years had a helmet. Not sure if you said you had kids but if so that may be a problem. Yours I assume will wear them and if they are the only kid in the neighborhood wearing them, well we know kids.
