I don't know. Didn't seem to be a better forum for it.

To know if it's odd, I'd have to know your age & age of the child.

If you had a child at 45, and your parents had you at 45, & your child is a newborn, well, that's 90 years. Your family has kids late in life, I'd say.

It appears they're both still alive.

Really astonishing.

When I was a social worker I had a grandmother in my caseload who was 28 when her grandchild was born. She was a mother at 14 and her daughter followed suit and had a baby at 14. Neither of them was any good at parenting and the grandchild ended up in foster care. Sad.

An amazing story - these men have you all beat. There are also many other references to these Tyler men on "Google."

That is a very large gap yeah I'd say. The age gap between my younger sister and my oldest grandparent is 54 years which I'd think is about average.

I don't know anyone who became a grandparent before the age of 40. Even 45 is rare. Seems like 50-75 is the typical spread in my world. I don't think there's anything wrong with becoming a grandparent at 90, per se, it's just unusual.

I am 53 and my oldest is 24 (and youngest is 17) -- I don't think I'll be getting grandchildren for at least a few more years. My mom first became a grandparent at 51 and was 65 when her youngest grandchild was born.
