Our children wouldn’t have dared use that kind of language. Even something like, “shut up” was not allowed. As adults, all the boys were in the Army, so their language has gone to the dogs. They only talk like that with each other though.

I’m not above a few choice words to myself once in awhile.

When they lived at home, no.
One of them, when their father did a very stupid thing which led to us splitting up after 21 yrs, she had a string of expletives that she called her dad. I said nothing to her for that.



They are older with families of their own now but neither of them cuss. Actually, the one that let out the string of expletives on her dad absolutely abhors foul language.

Cussing around parents or elders is disrespectful. I was raised old-school and if you cursed around my parents or any elder in my family, you would get checked and a stern look. If I had kids, I wouldn't let them cuss around me or their mother, and I would hope they had sense enough not to cuss outside my presence.
