As in, we don't post pictures of their faces, milestones, instagrammy birthday-party-pictures, or stage photos for all our facebook friends or twitter followers.
We share our photos with their grandparents and that's it. Our kids are not a rung on the social media ladder to prove to others and ourselves how great, beautiful, and organically meaningful our lives are.
They already are. No need to crow about it.
Pigeonhole Them
Our kids surf. They are not just surfers. Our kids do that aerial silks thing, go on nature hikes, and take marine biology courses, but they are not just Patagonia granola nature Gaia children. Our kids play with toy guns, shoot fireworks, ride dirtbikes, love everything patriotic and American, and go to monster truck rallys and demolition derbys, but they are not just American Country. We take our kids overseas to spend summers with their cousins, they speak fluent Mandarin, and eat foods that would freak their peers out, follow some of the traditions and and like the country of half their ancestry but they are not just YYYY-Americans.
Top five:
1: hit or spank.
2: treat as labor workers.
3: clothes appropriate to age.
4: forcing cult religions.
5: foul language .
Just curious.....you would not 'impose' age appropriate clothing on a child? (if impose is the word). So you mean you would let the child wear whatever they like?
