So the first odd thing was she started to lose her appetite late last week - she has always been a good eater. Then last friday on the way to the zoo, she had a violent episode of vomiting in the car and it just kept coming and coming (that was fun to clean out of the car). Saturday is really when the seperation thing started, still not eating as well. Then by sunday it was the seperation, not really eating and the sleep cycle changed?
It sounds like maybe she is not feeling well...that is like the exact cycle my kids do when not feeling good... clingy, loss of appitite, vomiting, and then the clinginess lingers on... My kids went through lots of stages with sleep and food...everything really...One week they would be perfect eaters and sleepers...the next they would not eat anything but toast and wake up at 5 in the morning all week long....The older she gets the more prominent the 'phases' become... You just have to kind of roll with the punches...Make sure she is not sick and just adjust to her schedule...It will work itself out.

Well the zoo incident leads me to the same conclusion as the other posters. She may not feel well and wants to be around someone for that "just in case" scare. Another thing for the waking up part, she might be having a bad nightmare about said incident, she might be starting to dream in color, etc.

Now, I'm not a professional, but if she continues to not eat well, I'd say to take her to the physician.
