MARATHON, Fla., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Authorities in Marathon, Fla., have charged a woman with child abuse after she drove around a parking lot with a 3-year-old on top of her car.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Brenda Bouschet, 54, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with the felony after several witnesses reported seeing the woman driving around the Marathon Publix parking lot with a 3-year-old girl on top of her 2006 Lexus, the (Marathon) Florida Keys Keynoter reported Thursday.
Hmmm...people are nuts.
At least it didn't describe a screaming, scared 3yr. old. I wasn't sure if this would be one of those bizarre discipline stories.
Still one more reason I leave my kids w/ noone. This woman's crazy and stupid.

The real crime is that this woman has been charged with child abuse. CHILD ABUSE! Poor judgment, perhaps. But child abuse? Give me a break. This can ruin the woman's life. I have no doubt she meant no harm and was just trying to deal with a tired toddler after a long day of fishing. Good case of people need to mind their own business.
really...go after the REAL idiots child abusers, that do stuff on purpose
EXACTLY!!! you have all these people drowning their kids in bathtubs, suffocating their babies, or letting their boyfriends beat them to death...even that lady that threw her kids off a bridge!! at first when i saw the titles on this thread...i thought it had to be some nut. but once i read the article...puhleez!!!
Ya'll are right. I mean it's not like the kid fell off & got it's head crushed under the car tires or anything. Much better to wait until AFTER the worst happens. Willful stupidity on the part of a mature, emotionally & mentally healthy adult counts as child abuse.
