New York, N.Y. -- Green lighted by last week's FDA approval, drug manufacturer Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals unveiled on Monday the company's newest oral contraceptive: Ortho-Novum 1/12 - the world's first chewable birth control pill.

Designed to target the ever growing demographic of "at risk" preteen females, the edible Ortho-Novum 1/12 tablet boasts an easier ingestion process than its orally administered predecessors.

An article for birth control with a picture of a 9 year old???? What are her parents THINKING?? OMG. Just the quote, "I take them with my Flinstones" should be a CLUE to these people. I guess OMG doens't even start to describe my disgust. Geez I thought it was bad when I put my 15 yr old on the pill to regulate her cycle. She is all upset because she thinks that I think she is sexually active. Personally, I think if we have to make birth control pills in the cute little shapes of bears and other ANIMALS we have a real problem. Dear Lord.

My philosophy is anything that will stop children from getting pregnant and having babies before they are emotionally and financially ready to raise them is a good thing.

If parents are going to take the bull by the horns and be parents, then I guess SOMEBODY has to take control of the situation. That is the sad and shocking thing to me.

You do all realize that the article is a joke, right? "Daddy's little angel's uterine wall," "Plus, we think the bears are cute," and the part about Britney Spears being the spokesperson... and Toys R Us and Kay Bee don't have pharmacies! LOL

I remember when they used the line "I worked in pre-teen maternity" as a joke in the movie "Top Secret".
