I quoted almost exactly what I told my husband this morning when we briefly talked about this.

The woman should be locked up for life, though I'm a believer in the death penalty.

Unfortunately our penal system puts these people (read: Susan Smith) in isolation and protect them from being lynched in prison. An even greater strain on taxpayer dollars. There are so many more cheaper ways to rid this world of vermin and we go the long tortuous expensive way to exact justice!

So he called 911 and ordered her a pizza. Did the pizza arrive before the cops? Did the cops wait for the pizza? How did the pizza get to the little girl? This is very distressing

Default Distracted by contradictions...

"She escaped from a locked bedroom by jumping out a second-story window, and Bowman admitted beating her with a "hard-heeled shoe," officials said."
and...
"Later Friday, authorities went to Bowman's modest, single-story house in the secluded, heavily wooded subdivision but nobody was home. Bowman showed up later at the sheriff's office and said she had locked her daughter in the child's bedroom."

I hope this is just a case of bad reporting.
