I sometimes wonder what power in the world allows certain people to be parents.

Oh, my God.

This one made me cry.

No only overnight, but all day the next day.

Life in prison would be too kind a punishment for these people.

They should be tied to a tree and left there to die.

There is something wrong with justice in this country because these people are never going to get what they deserve.....

The poor kid. I cannot imagine how he suffered.......

You have to wonder what a child did that was so horrible that it merited being tied to a tree for punishment. It makes me sick. I truly believe you should have to have a license to bear children.

This kind of instance solidifies my belief in the death penalty. And to suffer at length before passing makes it more intolerable to stomach.

I feel so blessed that I have faith. For when times get tough with my husband or my children, I can call on my faith & belief in prayer to help me think clearly & logically. I feel blessed not to have such a mindset that I could do extreme physical harm to my children. I feel blessed that I am surrounded by people, who if they saw me acting or talking abusively, they would step in.

This is a heartbreaking story. May that boy rest in peace.

As for the "father" & "step mom"...they deserve only solitary confinement with a picture of their son at the morgue the rest of their lives.

Hell seems to be getting crowded these days...

yeah.... I live where this was on the TV for weeks. It makes me pure sick to see it. I have a son around the poor boy's age... All I could think of was why didn't somebody know what was going on.... I know that I'd take in any kid that showed up at my door.... If they didn't want him, why did they kill him??? Why didn't they just give him up?

It is bad enough that the boy's momma had died... but what human can sit there and treat a child like this? His blood father.... and as a bio and step momma.... I know damn well that I would never allow any child to suffer like this.... I don't care if I gave birth to them or not.

It just goes to show that there are some sorry (insert ugly word here) people in this world.... I say we tie them ut to a tree on a 100 degree day in the middle of the summer..... yeah... that is something the article doesn't tell you.... it was hot and dry.

this actually happened in June, not December, which makes it worse. Here in NC temps in December tend to range in mid 50's to mid 60's. June last year we were hitting 85+ and up to 100 degree days a couple of times.

This was huge news in NC this summer and the outrage was incredible.
