I mean seriously! Why are people so driven by fame and fortune? Why can't they just be happy and content with the things they already have? Why do so many young children dream about becoming famous actresses, musicians, etc? I think it's because they just want the glitz and glamour they see on T.V. It's not really because they have a passion for what they do. If you truly loved what you did, then it wouldn't matter whether or not you became famous or rich because you just simply love what you do. I think celebrities are waaaaaaaaaaaay too overrated! They are no better than the homeless man they ignore when they drive down the street in their fancy cars. For instance, if Denzel Washington didn't have alot of money or wasn't a famous actor then he would just another ordinary man. We are way to obessed with status and material wealth in this country. It's really a shame because those things can easily pass away especially now with the failing economy. If money and status really makes you a better or a happier person then why are their so many rich, famous people committing suicide, falling into drugs and alcohol, and not to mention many of them can not hold a solid marriage. Seriously people get over these Celebrities! They are people just like you and me! Their matierial wealth and status do not make them better people. It's so sad that some people don't know what it means to be "truly" wealthy. Parents need to teach their children what's really important in live. Besides being a celebrity is not all it's cracked up to be. Just think about what you will be loosing. Privacy, family time, etc.

The glitz and glamour isn't just on T.V. and in Movies or on Record Lables. Kids have been dreaming of becoming rich and/or famous for centuries. It's all about the Fairytale. I bet when you were little your mom and dad read you plenty of fairytales and you wanted to be a princess or a knight of the round table. The possibility of that ever happening were pretty slim, but it probably didn't keep you from dreaming of becoming one anyways.

Actors, actresses and music stars have been replacing the fairytales of yore as Repunzel and Sir Lancelot are now antiquated. But the Fairytale dream of Happily Ever After is still alive and well and kids are still dreaming just like they did when Fairytales were first told.

If you remember right there were dragons, wizards and demons of all sorts in those old Fairytales, much like they are in today's Fairytales. It's just today's dragons, wizards and demons are now Drugs, alcohol and paparazzi. But I bet that you wouldn't take back one minute of your parents reading you those fairytales that allowed you to dream. As dreams are what cause people to strive for the stars and achieve a better life.

Oh and as BTW I have no problem with anyone achieving fame and fortune as long as they don't forget about those below them or helped them on their way to the top. Maybe rich peoples' lives wouldn't be so chaotic if they took some time to see the people below them on their (the non rich people) level every once in awhile. Even Prince Charming was kind to the peasants and he ruled with fairness and decency and the people loved him even more for it and they were willing to fight to the death for him rather than trying to over throw him.

Those BELOW them??? Excuse me, but they are not ABOVE anybody. They are people doing their job, but they are not above ANYBODY.

I was refering to income level. A good majority (not saying all) of people who bring in 6+ figures do treat those who make far less as nothing more than peaons. How often do you see a multimillionaire rubbing shoulders with someone bringing in $50,000 or less? Not very often unless that $50,000 a year person can help increase the multimillionaire's income or fame even more. That is because the $50,000 person is below the multimillionaire's social circle.

I can't stand 95% of hollywood and entertainers. I live in CA and nothing is gets past the news and its stupid and sick. I mean what has Paris Hilton really done in her life other than make some porn tape and being born rich? Kim Kardashian ? Oh yeah her big ass! Here, its news whenever someone famous brushes their teeth. Alot of people here go to Laker games not for the game but to see/look at stars. Big deal!!!!!!!!!! Wow they have eyes and walk with one leg in front of the other.... amazing.

Who is Kim Kardashian anyway? Does she do anything? She seems to have come out of nowhere and thinks she's somebody famous. Who the heck is she?
