Are girls harder to potty train than boys? I have potty trained three boys but scared things will be much harder or different with girls! What your view? What are some tricks to make it easier with girls? Please help!
My experience 1 girl 3 boys. My daughter is the oldest and was the easiest, the 2 boys were much more difficult especially when it came to doing #2. We'll see if this holds true for our youngest son who will probably get started sometime this summer.
I've always heard that girls are easier, but in my house, my son was potty trained by age 3, and my daughter took until she was 4. I think it really depends on the child.... my son is pretty mellow, and my daughter is very strong-willed. The good news is that you have a bunch of other kids to cheer your daughters on, and maybe they will take it upon themselves to make it a bit of a competition between them. Or maybe not, LOL.
I've always heard that girls are easier actually. All the girls in my dd's daycare were potty trained well before the boys! (The girls closer to 2 years and the boys closer to 3 years) Of course, all children are different, so you never know how yours will be.
My dd was so much easier than my 2 older boys. All I had to do was put her in underwear around 18 mos, and explain to her what was going on when she wet them, and how to keep them dry. She trained quickly, without many accidents. Training the boys was about as fun as poking yourself in the eye repeatedly while banging your head against a wall. Time will tell with my 18 mo old boy.
If the girls are harder than boys then I might just give up and wait till They are 30 LOL my boys were bad! My first son took a week and he was going. And no accidents. I thought wow that was easy. Until my other boys and I never thought they would go to the potty!
I thought my son was fairly easy, except for #2, which took just a little while longer. My daughter got a good start at the same age, but when we moved she completely regressed, so I had to put it off for a LONG time. I always heard girls were easier, and if we hadn't moved, it would have been true for us too! Oh well.
My older daughter was trained at 15 months. Not one accident after that. My younger daughter was 18 months. No problems. Both had dry panties all day and dry beds at night by 18 months.
My boy was 2 when he was trained, but I didn't get him until then or it would have been sooner.
With four girls and one boy, I too found my girls much easier to train. Thankfully hubby helped with training my son especially when it came time to show him the standing up and peeing part. I don't think I could have taught him that, not without looking funny.
