I'll bet you a cup of coffee we have a liberal judge here in Texas that would rule the same way...
There's no cause of action in Texas, to the best of my knowledge, that allows a minor to sue a parent over "unfair" consequences.

Let's say that this somehow got before a judge anyway. I'm sure you know that judges in TX are elected. One of the benefits of electing judges is that a judge who made a ruling like this would be booted off the bench the next election, guaranteed.

Yes...a normal grounding. Something that parents have a RIGHT to do and an OBLIGATION actually (to impose some punishment).

Failing to impose punishments for misbehavior (and especially for DANGEROUS behavior like this girl engaged in) is far more neglectful and "abusive" than grounding her for 3 years would be.

This is ridiculous. Who even put this idea into the little brat's head in the first place?

Quebec must have some screwy parental laws there as these things are based on law.

" booted off the bench the next election, guaranteed. "
