What kind of mattress is good for a child

Oh my old hand me down will do just fine, as long as the springs aren't popping out to bad.....Just kidding, I think you don;t have to get something to expensive but as long as it has good support. I think I paid $200 for both my girls.

I go for foam mattress. Cheap. less for the bed bugs to live in. Put a plastic cover on to protect it.

foam is light so when there is a sleep over, ot can be moved into the lounge to form part of one big bed.

kids dont care.

I like the Lightning McQueen bed idea but they will grow out of it so look for a second hand / used one and just re sell when your kid grows out of it.
