Good luck finding work as a teacher. I'm trying to get out of teaching because the market is so bad. Between the retirment age for teachers shifting from the mid 50's to the mid 60's and state budget cuts, there are dozens of applicants for every job. It's so bad here (Michigan) that one of the things you can't use the state unemployment education funds for is a teaching program.

Now teaching at a community college would be pretty good to get into. Especially if you're available to teach as an adjunct during the day. It might take years to get a full time offer but if you have nothing now, it's better than nothing.

I think if I was going go recommend someone get into a field, it would be a service industry that has to recover early. For example, people can only go so long without making car repairs and house repairs. There comes a point they must be done. This is where the turn around of this recession will start (IMO). When we reach the point that people have to buy new car or fix the ones they have, when they have to start replacing or repairing worn out appliances and when they have to make house repairs.

Jenna, I've known you from the religion board. It sucks you are going thru this given your Christianity. One of those repeating instances where I ask why God doesn't come to the aid of the faithful.

Hope you get away from this man.

Men with anger issues do not deserve to be married or enter a relationship.

As to staying together for the children, it depends on whether or not the couple can be civil. If both agree to stay together for the children and make life peaceful, it's probably best. If they are going to fight all the time, probably not. If there is abuse, definitely not. No one should stay in an abusive situation for the sake of the kids. In fact, I think parents in such situations are obligated to get out of the situation for the kids.
