and...what if he does HAPPEN to come out being gay later in life? For one, this action in no way would have anything to do with it. And, really, why is that something to worry about?

Please dont go making your thoughts vocal in front of your son. You're just going to confuse the hell out of him when in reality there is nothing to fear. And you need to just relax and not read deep into every gesture a child makes. Over analyzing everything is only going to stress you to the max for no reason. And if its fear of cooties he has for not holding her hand just give him the cootie shot: Circle circle dot dot now you have the cootie shot. Worked for my son at that age

Maybe he's been watching the 6 o'clock news, and is still trying to sort out the touch rules. He's wondering why a woman, up on the speakers platform, can hug anybody, male or female, but males can only hug females. Maybe he's wondering why Bushie could give a backrub to Angela Merkel, but not Vladimir Putin. Question remains open on Tony Blair.
