playboy/penthouse ...harmless stuff...very tame compared to what's on internet for free...and don't forget the articles !!

fears of increasing his sex drive ?? he's a Male teen...it's already sky high

Citygirl had the best idea...let him pick out a few "choice ones" ... not sure if Ebay will let you sell them on their site ...if so let HIM sell them ...then do something fun with the proceeds...have a cookout for some of his friends etc.
He'll be the envy of all for having such cool parental units.

Ebay won't let you sell them on there. They will pull them every time. You have to sell them in their "adult" section of their site, which most people don't know exists. When you list them in there they don't sell because nobody knows about the area, but at least ebay gets paid the insertion fee. :-)

You'd be better off placing an ad for the lot of them on craigslist.

I have been out of town for the last few days so was happy to see the new opinions.

What a good idea selling them! Even better getting my son involved. I am by no means going to let him have them but part of me still thinks giving him one will help him keep his mind off of the real thing. Like JBrown said, he is a boy and no one can stop those raging hormones. Being in my 30's I have had a taste of "hormones kicking in" and I can't imagine having to deal with the desire for sex as a teen boy. It is crazy that mother nature gave men their sexual peak at such a young age.

I did tell my husband about them. He right away said "where are they??" HA!...let's discuss what to do with them before I tell you.

Another thought. What about cutting some of the articles out and putting them in a small scrap book? That way my son has something to work with but he has to come up with the mental image himself?

I am going to go check out craigslist. Is it really as easy as giving an email address? I am not thrilled about meeting with the person who would answer an add saying 'big box of porno for sale!'.

It's funny how life throws these challenges at us!

I think you got a lot of great suggestions. Selling them is a great thing todo and have him involved.
Hiding them all would not be a great thing to do.

Good for you, the assumptions suggested by South Range Family were more likely a reflection of how they feel about porn. Burning the mags is the best solution just to keep from spreading it around to anyone and selling it would be completely immoral, especially since you disagree with it.

IMO Playboy, Penthouse, and Hustler are NOT harmless. They are poison to having a healthy perspectives on intimacy and just the beginning to pornographic addictions no matter the personality. We live in a society that is so saturated with sex we have become desensitized to it. Pure and true intimacy is all but non existant today, evident in the staggering amount of divorces, infidelity, sex offenders, and the recent trendy surge of how cool it is to be gay among the youth of America.

I must have got hung up on what South Range Family was suggesting, I didn't realize you took a liking to selling them. It's totally up to you whatever you do, however I believe selling them is just sending your son mix signals, "I would have no problem admitting looking at porn but I don't! I don't agree with it.... What a good idea selling them!" It is a free country and anyone of legal age can go and buy them if they choose, (or find it for free legally or illegally on-line) however if you don't agree with something why would you want to profit from promoting it? The harm of pornography is not as easily measured as other abuses but IMO the side effects are far more reaching and destructive.

Selling them did seem like an interesting idea but after sleeping on it I am back to my burning them decision. Like you said, if I am against it then I shouldn't make profit from it. Not to mention the problem it may create for the family of the man who buys them (if he has a family or GF). I know it has taken time out of my life to figure out. Best to get rid of them for ever!

Cool! I'll keep the margaritas flowing.

It would be funny to have a bunch of guys over for the big fire and see how many of them start crying!
