What would you rather have, the boy jacking off to a porno magazine or jacking off with the chick down the street?
Being a 19 year old male I can tell you that the hormones definitly kick in around 15-16 years old. Likewise, that is the same time when I discovered the power of porno. I can definitely tell you from personal experiences that watching porno does not increase your sex drive it decreases it because you are satisfying yourself. If you do not satisfy yourself, sexually then you will be constantly trying to figure out how to do that. The easiest way to do that is by having sex with someone else (which explains why the teen birth rate is skyrocketing) however that is very unsafe. The more safe way is to master bate.
Also I find it rather interesting that some people on this form think of porn as gross. Please explain to me why looking at the naked human body is gross. My art history class has shown me that the naked body is the most beautiful thing you can look at, perfect in every aspect.
I also saw a comment about how porn objectifies woman. Well, I am sorry to tell you but everything in this society objectifies woman to some extent. What do you think high school football and cheerleaders are? The males acting all manly while the woman stand on the side cheering for them in their skimpy skirts?

Thanks Killer, it is really nice to hear the opinion of a young hormonal guy. That was my first point, will the porn keep him from wanting to have sex with his long time girlfriend a little less. I can't stop him from doing it (nor would I want to, it is natural) so wasn't sure how the mags would play a part.
I still have them in my attic and haven't given him any. He still asks and begs though!
It was not too long ago when I was 15. Your son is in no danger, nor are you ever going to prevent him from seeing this stuff again.
Let him explore his own sexuality. I am not saying let him have sex at the age of fifteen or encourage it, but porno won't do him any harm. As gross as some of it is as of late, I have never had any horrible flashbacks from when I was a kid.
Skoe, nothing in those magazines will keep your son away from his girlfriend 'in that way.' As much as he wants those magazines they are absolutely no comparison to his girlfriend. They are not even in the same league. I realize you feel your son doesn't keep any secrets from you, but he does. At his age his has to. My sister says the exact same thing about her son, and I know for a fact his does keep secrets from her. It's nothing to be alarmed about, it's just part of growing up. Keeping secrets from your mother is just part of becoming a man. Believe me, there are many things a teenage boy doesn't want his mother to know about.
As far as the magazines go, do what you want with them. It won't stop him from looking at porn. It's everywhere, especially online. But it sounds like your son and his friends are just trying to see just how far they can push you. Most magazines cost 6 or 7 bucks each, so if they do in fact have 100 magazines that's a lot of money to be spending on porn. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars. They probably found the magazines, or were given them. And if they're second hand you can imagine what the last owner of them was doing as he looked at them. I'm not so sure I'd let my son keep them, and I'm a man who sees nothing against porn. But no matter what you do you can't win. If you don't give them to him the next time he gets his hands on some you won't know about it. And if you do let him have them, then it sounds like you will be doing something you aren't comfortable with.
But one more point. In this day and age, if this is the biggest concern you have about your son you are doing a pretty good job raising him.

I made a deal with my grandson.....keep it in your pants and I"ll buy you a truck in March.......this is now November......he didn't get the truck.....

these mags ruined my life!! I got a hold of them at age ten! my buddy stole them from his uncle! my siblings would read them in the bathroom (alone),,,,I got older, got a job, started buying them at the truckstops, just added a pack of marlboro (did not smoke , threw them out) and a coke, and it was easier to escape the glare of the clerk behind the desk...got older it went to videos! then I started downloading the stuff! it is a virus of the mind, keep ur kids away from the crap!!! be a buddy to ur child!! I had a dad who didn't give a damn about me, never spoke to me. my mom was the sole influence in my life!! BAD IDEA! that is why God gave a child a mom and dad, it balances things out...you need both masculine influence (to intimidate and challange you) and feminine influence which consoles and nurtures! if I would ever marry , I would know this....if we had this balance across America, I assure you it would be a very different nation... good day
We had our spring garbage clean up on the weekend. My son who will be turning 15 in June and his 2 friends called me to the front door. They all looked so excited and anxious. My son opened the box at his feet and there were 100 playboy and penthouse magazines.
I would take them away on the grounds your son was stupid for letting you see he found them.
If I found porn. . .I would never let me parents know I found their stash
