While funny, it's not always true.

I've managed to lose most of my sense of smell, so I changed all the really nasty diapers that were too much for my wife even.

Heck I changed the *first* diaper for our child, and at least half of them during the first two months.

It probably helped that I as a boy I changed my younger brother's diapers occasionally as well. Stupid, nasty, cloth diapers.

No more diapers for us!

Yes, I remember there were a few times when I had to call in my DH because the diaper was just too nasty for me. I can relate to the gagging guy in the video.

My DH and I made a great pair when it came to dealing with the nasty stuff. I could handle the dirty diper changes better than he and he could handle the vomitting better than I, but we both dealt with one or the other at various times. Sometimes we would gag and sometimes we wouldn't. However it seemed like he would gag more when it came to changing dirty diapers and I would gag more when it came to vomit. So if we were both home when a dirty diaper needed changing, I was the one who usually did it and if we were both home when a kid got sick, he usually was the one who dealt with the clean up.

So basically, in our house it was good that our babies/small children had both mom and dad.

Another reason that babies need mother is for breast milk.

Breast milk is natural. It provides the best nourishment and the best priming of the imune system.

And finally from the fathers point of view, the midnight feed is all mum responsibility.

(The down side of bottle feeding is that guess who has to get the midnight bottle - dad)

So with breast feeding, dad gets a good night sleep.

Never stopped me. Kids had a hard time latching on through the ringlets of nipple hair though.

That gave me one heck of a laugh. My DH has no problem but a lot of our guy friends do.

Wyoquilter, it is the same here, I've never gagged over a dirty diaper but vomit and I'm in trouble. Seems like once a year my one DS gets a bout of stomach flu and he can never make it to the bathroom and it always seems to happen in the middle of the night. I feel bad that I have to go get DH and wake him up to clean puke up off the floor, bed, walls, especially when he has to work in the morning and I don't, but I just can't go there...
