My father was a plant manager and my mother stayed at home. She was extremely traditional, but in a bad way (refused to drive, thought women should not work, men have all the answers and are smarter, etc) which is why I went on to get as much education as possible and worked several years before I had kids. I learned her lesson well

both were teachers. Later my dad became a Vice Principal. Even though they both worked, they had the same holidays and summer vacation as my sister and I.

When I was growing up, my mom was a computer programmer, same as my step-dad. With my little sisters now, she stays home and he is now a nurse. My dad was a lawyer, and my step-mom a university professor.

Dad was a military officer and mom stayed home and did all the things that were expected of a military officer's wife at that time (gloves, calling cards, entertaining, volunteering and of course kowtowing to the wives of higher ranking officers LOL)....
