I am in the market for a swing for my baby and was wondering if anyone has ever used the sweetpeace swing. It is pricer than most others, but luckily it is on sale at amazon. Anyways- Is the sweetpeace worth it? Did your baby love it or hate it? Thanks

I had it on my registry but all the veteran moms I know told me it would be a waste of money (it is pretty pricey!). My friend did get it but she said it wasn't that much better than other swings she's had. I would say one of the benefits is that you can plug it in. That will save you a ton on batteries and with the way we've gone through C & D cells here, maybe it WOULD be worth it (especially at sale price). Honestly? I'm glad we didn't get it as our use of the swings we have (FP Aquarium) got a couple of months' use tops. We're into exersaucers/jumpers now & they could care less about swings anymore.

Take into consideration that your baby will be in that swing for maybe 4 to 6 months tops.

You should really only keep a newborn in a swing of that nature for brief periods & not use it for long term sleeping due to spinal & neck development. Though, my #1 would only sleep in his swing the first 3 weeks & after that he had no desire to be in the swing at all.

I looked it up & it is showing $179!!!!!?? Is that the price?

We had the Fisher Price Aquarium for both children & it worked great. #1 son was not in the swing after 1 month & #2 was in it when I was making dinner or lunch & outgrew it around 3 months. I think we paid something like $69 for it.

I think that swing is a too expensive for how long it will be used.

Not all babies take to swings. Some love it & others do not. So, I think that's a big risk to take at $179.

You can find some really nice ones in the area of $75.

I'd also look into the playcenter. Those are the little activity centers that they can lay under & look up & there are things to grab, etc. Both my sons loved theirs & good for tummy time, too. Just packed it up yesterday to give away to charity ): It went fast.

Also, a good brand to look at for baby toys is Tiny Love.

I looked on amazon and it is 149 no sales tax and free shipping. Dont you just love amazon for that. Anyways, It plugs in which is a plus. For that particular swing I thing 149 total isnt bad considering you would be spending 180 plus tax about 195 bucks at Babies R us. I dont know anything about the swing, but you got a great deal online.

I asked my other friend who has the Sweet Peace & she thinks it was worth the money for some of its features: power by electricity, iPOD ready, different sounds, etc...I would also try Craigslist. I've found a lot of baby items on Craigslist in excellent condition.

I don't think it's worth it...my own 5 kids and many others I've watched were happy in a regular battery powered swing. I think it's the swing action that soothes them, not so much sounds or hanging toys. Also, I looked at the picture at Amazon and I don't personally feel comfortable with the base-it looks tippable to me. Just my opinion.

I invested in a battery charger and rechargable batteries-one set to use and one to charge. That solved the battery use issue on the swing!
