My son at 7.5 is the exact opposite - tall and skinny. I've been buying 8s for him for a while but they fall off of him, well now they are just fitting around the waist. Levi's do run short, his 8s are too short for him. i am pretty sure they have them in husky as well so a size 7 husky might work. With levis they put the waist/length size on them but they are still sized 6, 7, 8etc. I would love it if I could choose the length. I expect this problem will get worse as he gets older because he is bound to be very tall (I'm 5'11, his dad was 6'3) and I have a feeling he will stay tall and skinny for a while.

I like Levi's, Gap, and children's place jeans quality wise. Gap jeans fit him the best but I like the "look" of the Levi's better but they are too short for him. Target and Old Navy jeans work but they are thin, he seems to go through the knees very quickly but I do still get them when they are cheap.

thanks all, as an update I bought my daughter the adjustable waist jeans at Lands End and the 7s fit for NOW. They probably won't in two weeks. They're tight around the waist but not uncomfortable yet. The 8s are falling off her and about 6 inches too long (the 7s are too long too). I'm saving the 8s for later

Now my poor son, her twin brother, who is the exact opposite problem as many of you have mentioned. He's also 7 but tall and super thin. He's been wearing size 6 slims from Gap and Gymboree oh for about the last year and now suddenly they are all two inches too short Poor guy. He's easier though because he doesn't care what he wears and he's a solid "slim" so i'm sure i can get any 7 slim to fit him.

I love the slims and husky's however my daughter is just somewhere in between

Why not get her the 7 regulars with the adjustable waist or even the 6 regulars if the 7's are too long?

I think they are the regular 7. I think the "s" after the number 7 is just pluralizing, not standing for slim.
