Adult child/parent relationships

I think each situation is different. My sister was toxic in our family, she moved out and the entire dynamic changed, no fighting, enjoyable evenings, it was definitely a nice change. She got along with my parents much better living on her own.

For me, I think I have the same relationship with my parents.

I think there comes a time when most kids/parents have trouble living under the same roof...natures way of saying it's time to leave the nest. I went through about 2 years of trouble with my mom before I finally moved out, then our relationship improved. I could see it happening with me and my own daughter, and was glad she went away to college because we get on well now when she comes home to visit.

Some people never go through this.
