OMG - a forgot about gym uniforms! Ew! Ours was a white one piece with elastic waist and snaps up the front. It was horrible...
Ours was kelly green. I was really tall and the gymsuit was always too short in the body, so it cut into my crotch and I had to sort of hunch my back inside of it to try to make my torso shorter so it wouldn't hurt. No wonder I hated gym.
My mother would say an ironing board because my daughter saw her ironing once and asked what she was doing (Honestly, I have an iron, just not an ironing board.).
I would say a brain. Kids now days are told what to do, how to feel, what to say, everything is told to kids. They no longer need to think for themselves. If they give a wrong answer, they are promptly told the expected answer. They are hovered over and directed so that none of them have to give a thought, simply do what they are told.
great thread! You all took mine: record player (although my nephew got one for Christmas so he can play all our old classic rock LPs), 8 track/cassette, getting off your bum to change the channel, rotary phone with a phone cord, roller rinks, sitting in the back of a station wagon (there was enough room for a bunch of us), atari... ahhh the good old days.
