At only 4 you could put him in Daycare or some toddler summer camp... What did you do with your DD last summer?

pre-K runs enough hours during the school year so that you can work, but they don't have a summer program? That seems odd. As far as I know, the before and after school care at the public schools here also runs during the summer. I thought that was the norm. Check with parents in your community and find out what they do. There has to be someone out there who has been in your shoes.

Why wouldn't she be in daycare, then, if she's in daycare now? Pre-K is typically only a two-hour program anyway, unless it's pre-k in the morning then daycare in the afternoon, so maybe they have a summer program?

Look for a summer program at the YMCA, the Jewish Community Center, private day care centers like Kindercare, through the school system, etc...

Your best bet is to ask friends and neighbors with kids, as to what is available in your area. Here, they have a summer program through the schools. If your current provider keeps their older kids, you should be good for the summer after pre-K. That will give you more time to find out what is available.
