Would appreciate some ideas on what kinds of things 8 year old boys are currently interested in. What is the hottest video game for them, and what kind of cartoons do they watch for instance? Thanks!

Club Penguin (its an online game plus they have it for the Nintendo DS too), and another vote for Bakugan, Super Mario, and Star Wars (esp the new Clone Wars series).

Also - Phineas and Ferb is a big hit around here.

I have an 8 year old grandson who every now and then plays our Wii. Most of the time he is outdoors, on his bicycle, 4 wheeler or dirt bike. Take him fishing, or anything outdoors. Is he into sports? Baseball season is almost here.
For something inside, try the Wii. I bet somebody trying to figure out something for an 8 year old boy to do might enjoy playing the Wii too! Should be able to rent one.

If we are going to expand it beyond cartoons and video games I will add in that if I got my 7yo boy a trampoline for the backyard, he'd probably live on it.

Thanks guys - I'm getting a real education here It's been a long time since I've had an 8 year old in my life! I may shortly be spending some time with one and wanted some ideas so I could know what to talk to him about. This is all very helpful!
