My 7 year old son wears it sometimes. I noticed that they don't have just deodorant for women though it is always an anti-perspirant as well. Not sure why. They do have deodorant only for men.
My 8 year old granddaughter is using Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal Roll-on. Her mom noticed the odor last year as well and the pediatrician said this was ok

Maybe men are expected to be sweaty. And women are expected to be non sweaty.
My daughter has been using deodorant since she was nine because her third grade teacher told the whole class after p.e. one day that the room smelled like a barn. She assigned the whole class the homework of getting some deodorant. I laughed so hard. We've been buying the strawberry stuff too. It's not different, just marketed at teens. All of the girls use it. It's just the most popular brand.
I have to agree with Marylee about the heat activated deodorant, especially Axe. Anytime some guy gets on the elliptical next to me wearing it, I have to stop in the middle of my workout and move to a different machine so that I don't end up with a migraine. That stuff is strong!
article in today's paper about 7 year olds starting puberty. Seems all the speculation of additives, estrogen, etc in our crops and meat is the culprit. So it's not a myth.
I disagree. When I was in 4th grade only one girl had hit puberty and started her period, while now there are 8 of the 13 girls in my DD's 4th grade class that are having periods already.
I fully think the added hormones in meats and foods, along with the extra soy hormones in all the soy additives are causing this jump in early maturity.
Oh Crap. My 3 year old drank a lot of soy milk when she was a toddler, her pediatrician suggested we put her on it after a bad stomach virus. She doesn't drink it anymore and we don't eat a lot of processed foods. This conversation about early puberty is freaking me out. Should I be worried?

One back-to-school night (elementary school) we parents got that lecture. "You may not notice the smell when it's just one kid sitting in the back seat, but I'm standing in front of a class of 25." I must admit, I admired his honesty. We made it a teaching moment and went to SavOn.
Hmmm... i got mine at 11 and I never drank any soy. My sister at 12 and she ONLY drank Soy.
The old lady at the end of my street was 9 and she grew up in a totally diffrent time!
There are other factors including genetics, but the usual age for menarch when I grew up was 12 to 14. That average has gone down though and it seems to be around 10.5 now. There are always individual differences. These are averages.
The age of puberty is declining for girls, with more girls developing breasts by age 7 than in years past, according to a new study.
