I just don't think that these 7 year olds think they dance like strippers or that they are doing anything wrong. They probably work very hard and are very proud of themselves...

I do think the costumes are way out of line...I think the way they are dressed suggests more then the moves... If they were in some baggy jeans and a t-shirt (common for hip hoppers), I think people would not have such a beef with the perfomance...

I agree. I was more horrified by the uniforms than the dance moves. If these girls were wearing baggy pants & t-shirts doing the same moves, we wouldn't be so disturbed by these videos. Granted, their moves are very over-exaggerated, but many dancers are taught to do this (even with non-stripper-like moves).

That being said, these girls are AWESOME dancers for their age!

Greetings,
Does anyone know what the laws are about this? As in PORN...... The Parents Shame on you and acting like an idiotttttttttssssssssssssssss. They should be arrested for child abuse. It's not like there isn't enough evidence of it. Bet the perverts are enjoying this.
How does that make the parents feel, that most of the population see's as exploiting the girls and the perverts are the only one enjoying it. Can you imagine the girls future when this comes up in there face over and over again?
We need to Pray for those girls.

Oh, did anyone else notice something odd about these girls? Is it just me or could they all possibly be wearing wigs. How could it be that every one of those girls has the EXACT same length of hair and style............. ??????

I wonder how many perverts have watched that video so far...or even how many were in the live audience. Even if the girls didn't know that what they were wearing and doing was provocative, I'd still feel extremely uncomfortable knowing that men would be watching my little girl's performance and "getting off" to it. Sorry for the harsh language, but it needed to be said because that is what is really happening.

P.S. I also could not bring myself to watch the entire video. The first minute or so was more than enough.

5 But I'll bet anything that there are PLENTY of mothers out there that would be willing for their little girls to take the spots of the girls whose parents are more outspoken and against it.
I usually just quietly read the posts in this forum but this post brought back a flood of bad memories. My mom was one of those mothers who wanted me to be out there. When I was the age of those girls I did dance and ballet and drama and I loved it. Absolutely loved performing. I wore skimpy dance costumes like those and had absolutely no idea. It was just what one did. I loved everything about it. The performance. The audience. The attention. The applause.

However as I entered my teens, my interest dropped as I realised how controlling my mother was. I became more selfconsious and she became ever more pushy and controlling. She would parade me around in my dance costumes. At home I would be made to dress and show my dance routines to visitors and then remain in the costume. There were many times when I was made to go to the supermarket and tag along with her while I wore the costume. I had to be cumfortable with my body she would say.

Sorry to go on so much but I just had to get it out.

Greetings,

Now you have the experience in many ways, have you thought of starting an internet support group for others that have gone thru this.

Be Blessed

These kind of dances have been going on for several years. I remember seeing one and saying if I ever had a daughter that can dance like that at that age then I'm going to be fearful of what will happen when she is older. If that is the only kind of dancing that wins first place then I have to say that his real sad. I hope that with Dancing with the Stars has been on more people will be looking at the old ballroom dancing as a form of dance for their children. I love it and have done some of the ballroom dancing. Those will be the dance lessons my daughters take!

Great suggestion. Or a voice against such a thing as these children may think it's what they want because they're coached into it but they're not old or wise enough to know better.

Exactly. I couldn't watch it all either. These parents might as well hand deliver their children to the psycho perverts. They're sure feeding their deviant behavior by supplying them with another way to get off on children. And, yes, it's unpleasant to hear but it needs to be said.

I also think any venue which airs this needs to be held accountable too--such as where ever they're performing here.

i would bet anything that any parent who complained about their daughter having to do those moves was probably voted out and "asked" to have their daughter removed from competition. as always, applaud those that shouldn't be and remove any that go against.
