Can anyone tell me about this area? I am on the other side of the state and thinking of moving out west. I'm an accountant/real estate investor and my wife is a nurse. What is the overall economy like out there? Thanks in advance...

Mike

Im originally from Western PA. Around Pittsburgh, recently moved to Westlake, Ohio west of Cleveland. I wouldn't suggest moving to Sharon. Really there is only one town there that is actually worth living in. That would be Hermitage. If you want the oppurtunities try crossing the border to Ohio. All the hospitals for your wife are in Youngstown and its metro. They are buildings a new hospital in the suburb of Boardman. If she doesnt work in a hopspital, is more like an office nurse you will find plenty of that. For real estate i once again suggest Youngstown and its metro. They have great suburbs like Niles, Boardman, Austintown, Canfield, Poland, Columbiana and Salem. Canfield and Poland are more upscale neighborhoods. A lot of people that live right across the border in PA are moving to Ohio. Their jobs are over there and the entertainment is over there. On Friday nights you wouldnt be able to tell if you were in Ohio or PA, there are so many PA license plates. Just giving you a heads up about Sharon and Mercer County. Good Luck with the move.

My family moved to Neshannock Twp 4 months ago from Calif. We're about 16 miles south of Sharon/Hermitage. We do a little shopping in Hermitage and that's about the nicest area up there. Sharon isn't that nice and a few of it's surrounding areas are a pit! We do the majority of our shopping in Boardman OH, but I wouldn't go into Youngstown, from what we hear it's awful. The area we live is very nice and we love it. Alot of people around here work at the local hospital and the surrounding Medical offices. Good luck in your search!
